Course Structure
a) Introduction of the Course
This is a beginner level course on clinical hypnotherapy. It shall provide
an opportunity to not only know hypnosis but also impart scientific information
about hypnosis and its applications including self-hypnosis.
The student shall check their knowledge of hypnosis using a test given in the
manual, and get the opportunity for necessary clarifications based on the findings
of the test.
The students need to undergo classroom teaching, practice sessions and after
training reading and practice to master the skill of hypnosis.
Classroom teaching involves the following steps:
- Explanation of topic or concept
- Demonstration of steps of the skill
- Practice by the students
- Feedback on the performance
- Inputs for further reinforcement or consolidation of the concept
- Revision of whole session/day towards the conclusion of the session or day.
The students are provided course material for reading and further reference. Follow up support is made accessible to the students after the classroom teaching is over.
b) The objective of the Course
The course has two major objectives
- To familiarize the students with the modality of Hypnosis and its diversified utility to mankind.
- To wash out the prevalent misconceptions about the concept and use of hypnosis.
c) Expected Outcome
The students shall
- become familiar with the functioning of the mind
- acquire knowledge about the development of hypnosis so far
- become familiar with pre-induction communication with the client and filling client information sheet
- acquire knowledge and skill to induce hypnosis and carry out different steps of the hypnotic session
- understand different levels of trance
- acquire the skill to deepen the trance
- be equipped with the wording of suggestions and post-hypnotic suggestions
- know how to awaken the client
- Learn self-hypnosis
- be conscientized to the code of ethics
